An inspection microscope is time and again used in the least type of chemical or biological processing plant for the purposes of failure analysis or process control, among others. These are the big boys, as far as microscopes are concerned. An inspection microscope is usually quite large, and looks nothing like its more primitive cousin, the light microscope. You can even get hand held inspection microscopes, which are often used, in industry. They can be used for inspecting finishes and joints and so on. However, smaller versions can be used, such as those that are fed into a confined area, such as a piece of machinery, for close work.
A camera will often be attached to an inspection microscope for the purpose of recording findings. Inspection microscopes work at very high resolutions, which can be anything up to 1000. This should be compared with the usual 10x of a school microscope. A high-powered inspection microscope would also be used for inspecting gems in the gemstone industry. As you can see they have many applications, and for every different type of application there are as many different types of inspection microscope. Some need to have a lens, which can be swiveled around on a platform, like the kind used for examining electrical circuitry, for example.
As with any expensive piece of equipment, it will pay to take very good care of your inspection microscope. You can be sure that all the parts of a microscope are expensive, so care should be taken that specimens do not damage them. Dirt and debris should always be removed immediately to avoid scratching vulnerable lens surfaces. Fiber inspection scopes are used to inspect optical fiber connectors for scratches, dirt, pits, or other problems normally associated with poor transmission performance. By using threaded adapter mounts, Noyes fiberscopes can inspect the fiber and surrounding ferrule of virtually any connector style. The inspection microscopes view safe video microscope removes concerns for eye safety while inspecting optical fiber connectors.
The design eliminates the optical path to the eye by utilizing a miniature camera and a state-of-the-art micro-display that achieves unparalleled clarity and resolution. The inspection Microscope is a versatile instrument for the inspection of optical fiber connectors. By employing universal adapter cap mount; it can inspect virtually any connector style for scratches, dirt, or other problems normally associated with poor transmission performance. The inspection microscope offers 60 hours of continuous battery life. A 2.5mm universal adapter cap, holster, and user’s guide are included with inspection microscopes scopes. Two models of the inspection microscopes are available.
The inspection microscopes offer precision 200X magnification to easily inspect both multimode and single-mode fiber optic connectors. The inspection microscope with 400X magnification is available for more critical inspection during termination, especially with single-mode fibers. Various adapter caps are available to facilitate viewing of the desired connector style. The inspection microscope uses the same common threaded connector adapter caps as the Noyes Optical Power Meters and Loss Test Sets. The inspection microscope utilizes special precentered snap-in adapter caps, which ensure proper fiber location in the viewing area.
